Technical Feasibility Assessment for Hardware, Wearables & IoT
Assess What’s Technically Feasible Before You Commit
Don't build based on assumptions. In a structured 1–2 day workshop, our hardware and embedded experts tell you what is feasible, where the risks are and what to build first. Our Technical Feasibility Assessment provides a clear architecture direction, a prioritised risk list and a concrete next steps.

Get a Clear Answer on Technical Feasibility
Know whether your concept is buildable and what the key constraints are: power, connectivity, physical dimensions, cost. Remove uncertainty and move forward.

Focus Your Development on What Actually Matters
Receive a prioritised view of your technical risks and architecture options. This helps you avoid costly mistakes and ensures working on the right problems.

Turn Your Assessment Into a Development Roadmap
Leave with a documented architecture direction and next-step plan you can use for prototype planning, internal alignment and investor conversations.

How Our Technical Feasibility Assessment Works in 3 Steps

1. Review Your Concept & Requirements
We start by reviewing your product idea, intended use, technical requirements and any existing documentation. This gives us the baseline to assess feasibility accurately and identify the most critical open questions.

2. Assess Feasibility and Critical Risks
We evaluate your concept against real technical constraints like power, compute, connectivity, physical form factor and cost. Then we identify the key risks and validate your architecture direction.

3. Receive a Clear Plan For The Next Phase
You receive a written assessment with architecture direction, prioritised risks and a concrete next step recommendation. Either a focused sprint report or a full MVP strategy, roadmap and cost corridor on your choice.
Choose the Right Level of Technical Validation
Both options follow the same structured approach. The level you choose depends on where you are in your journey and how much strategic depth you need. Tier 1 is scoped for concepts that need a fast technical answer. Tier 2 goes deeper combining product strategy with technical validation to define a full MVP roadmap.
Tier 1. Hardware Validation Sprint
The right starting point if you need a fast, structured sanity check on your hardware concept before committing to development.
When to Choose Tier 1:
You have a hardware concept but haven't committed to development yet. You need to know if the core idea is technically feasible, what the main constraints are and whether your assumptions hold up. You are not looking for a full product strategy and you need a structured expert review that gives you a clear technical answer and a concrete next step.
What You Get:
- High-level architecture direction
- Feasibility assessment across key technical constraints
- Top risks and recommended validation steps
- Clear next-step recommendation toward a prototype
- 3–6 page summary PDF + architecture diagram

Tier 2. Device MVP Strategy Workshop
The right choice if you need to align product scope with technical constraints and define a realistic, buildable MVP roadmap.
When to Choose Tier 2:
You have a concept and a rough product vision, but critical questions go beyond feasibility. You need to define what to build, in what order and at what cost. You want to leave with a full MVP definition, a phased development roadmap and a realistic cost and time estimate for your team or investors. You want to move into development, but only with a solid plan.
What You Get:
- Everything in Tier 1, plus:
- Use case prioritisation and MVP definition
- Edge vs cloud strategy and AI feasibility if relevant
- Regulatory touchpoints at a high level
- Phased roadmap with effort and cost corridor
- 25–40 page structured report, architecture diagrams, risk matrix

This is the core of our assessment. We use a structured framework to work through your concept systematically covering architecture, constraints, risks and next steps. That way, you leave with answers to the right questions, not just a list of things to consider.
1. Review Your Concept & Requirements
We start by understanding your product idea, intended use and any existing documentation or requirements. This gives us the foundation to assess feasibility accurately and identify the critical open questions.
2. Assess Architecture Direction
We evaluate possible architecture approaches for your device: processor, sensors, connectivity, power management and physical constraints. We identify what is realistic, what needs further validation and what to avoid.
3. Analyse Technical Constraints
We work through the key constraints that determine whether your concept is buildable: power consumption, compute requirements, connectivity options, form factor and cost targets. Each constraint is assessed against your concept and requirements.
4. Identify Risks & Validation Priorities
We map the technical risks in your concept, rank them by severity and define which ones need to be resolved before development starts. You will know what is critical, what can wait and what is not worth addressing yet.
5. Architecture Direction & Next Steps
We consolidate the findings into a clear recommendation: architecture direction, open decisions and a concrete next step toward your prototype or MVP. At this point, you know exactly what to build and how to start.

Tech Concerns You Can Put to Rest
This is where many teams hesitate.
Hardware feels complex and risky.
Acting without clarity feels unsafe.

We'll Waste Time on a Concept That Isn't Feasible
You're not sure if your idea is technically viable. Once we have reviewed your concept against real constraints, you know exactly what is possible and what needs change.

We'll Choose the Wrong Architecture and Redo Everything
Choosing the wrong architecture means rebuilding from scratch. In hardware, this is not a minor fix; it affects your components, firmware, power budget and timeline. Your new plan will fix this.

We Don't Know What We Don't Know
Hardware has constraints that aren't obvious until you hit them: power, connectivity, form factor, cost. Our review surfaces these early, before they become expensive problems.

We'll Overbuild or Underprepare for the Prototype
Teams often invest too early or miss critical preparation steps. The assessment tells you exactly what is needed now, what can wait and what is not worth building at all.

Investors and Partners Ask What We Can't Answer
A documented architecture direction and risk assessment gives you a defensible technical position. One you can present confidently in funding or partner conversations.
What Will You Leave With After the Technical Feasibility Assessment
Feasibility can feel like a black box. You will get a concrete, documented answer and a clear path forward.

Architecture Direction & Feasibility
You will know whether your concept is technically buildable and what architecture direction makes sense for your device. This is the foundation for every development decision that follows.

Concrete
Next-Steps
to Take
You will receive a specific recommendation for your next development phase, whether that is a focused validation experiment, a prototype plan or a full MVP roadmap. No open endings left.

Documented Findings You
Can Build On
Whether you choose Tier 1 or 2, you leave with a structured written report tailored to your concept, your constraints and your next development phase, ready to share with your team, investors and development partners.

Your FAQs for our Technical Feasibility Assessment
Q1:What is the difference between Tier 1 and Tier 2?
A1: Tier 1 is a 1-day sprint focused on validating whether your concept is technically feasible and defining a clear next step. Tier 2 goes deeper, combining technical validation with product strategy to define a full MVP scope, phased roadmap and cost corridor. If you are unsure which fits, start with the free feasibility call and we will recommend the right one.
Q2: Do we need existing documentation or specifications to start?
A2: No. The assessment is useful precisely when documentation is limited or incomplete. We work with what you have and structure the missing pieces as part of the process.
Q3: What types of products is this assessment suitable for?
A3: It is designed for connected devices, wearables, medical hardware and IoT products. If your product involves embedded systems, sensors, wireless connectivity or edge computing, this assessment is relevant.
Q4: How long does the full process take?
A4: The free feasibility call takes 30–45 minutes. Tier 1 is completed in 1 day with a report delivered within a few days. Tier 2 runs over 2 days with a full report delivered within 1–2 weeks.
Q5: What happens after the assessment? Do you help with the rest as well?
A5: If you decide to move forward, punktum can support you through prototype development, firmware, hardware architecture, cloud and app integration. The assessment is designed to lead directly into a development engagement if the fit is right.
Q6: Does this include PCB design or component selection?
A6: No. The assessment covers architecture direction, feasibility and risk, not detailed electronic design, component selection or manufacturing preparation. Those become follow-up projects if needed.
Q7: Can this help us prepare for investor or partner conversations?
A7: Yes. The written report gives you a documented, defensible technical position (architecture direction, risk assessment and a development roadmap) that you can use directly in funding or partnership discussions.
